Cake & Cookie of the Month Club!

Last month, I (Adrienne) received a phenomenal e-mail inquiring if Le Cookie Monkey had such a thing as a "Cake of the Month Club." I knew that we didn't have one, but I just loved the idea!! Kevin Cook, the master mind (and customer) for this idea wanted to give his partner a 'gift certificate' for his birthday, promising that once a month they would get a small cake from Le Cookie Monkey to share with eachother. After multiple e-mails back and forth, Kevin and I decided he would recieve a cake the same time each month, and that everytime it would be a surpise. After clearing all the details making sure they weren't allergic to nuts, or hated any cake flavor in particular, the "Cake of the Month Club" had it's very first customer.

We made our first delivery this week! Kevin shared some pictures with us and can't wait for next month's cake. "Jefferson LOVED it and so did I! From the friendly delivery, to lovely presentation, to wrapping up the evening with a really delicious dessert, the whole experience was fabulous! J " - Kevin Cook.

We must all thank Mr. Cook for making this dream (that we didn't even know we had) become a reality!

Le Cookie Monkey is now offering a "Cake" and "Cookie" of the Month Club. We already have all the flavors for each month picked out and all you have to do is sign up! You can either sign up for 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, or a whole year. It's really up to you. You can gift this to a friend, and schedule a delivery to a specific location each time, or you can get it for yourself and celebrate how awesome of a person you are!!!! You can also decide if you'd like to be like Kevin and be surprised each month, or if you would like to know in advance.

Le Cookie Monkey's Partnership with the Chelsea Hicks Foundation

Fate. That's what happened when Le Cookie Monkey met members of the Chelsea Hicks Foundation over 6 months ago in Woodburn. This incredible organization helps bring hope and healing to the seriously ill children and their families at the Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel and Dorenbecher Children's Hospital.

Chelsea was a vivacious spirit who found happiness in dressing up, painting nails, and doing fun activities just like any little girl, except there was one thing different about Chelsea. She had a Stage IV Wilms’ tumor, involving her right kidney, lymph nodes and lungs. This diagnoses in 2007 at the age of 3 did not hinder Chelsea from doing what she loved most: playing dress up! In 2009, Chelsea lost her battle with cancer. Although she is physically no longer with us, her spirit lives on through 'Chelsea's Closet.' Chelsea's parents, Alison and Jason Hicks, have established monthly visits to Legacy Emanuel and Dorenbecher Hospitals, bringing new costumes (in their portable closet) to those children who are sick. This program not only provides fabulous dress-up clothes for every child on the cancer unit, but they also provide stations with arts and crafts, a costume parade around the ward, and yummy snacks! Le Cookie Monkey is a proud supporter of bringing delicious tiny treats to all the little monkeys during their visit from Chelsea's Closet!
